We are hoping with the support of our Grace Abbott community we will be able to donate SEVERAL fleece-tie blankets made by our very own “Alligators” to the Open Door Mission/Lydia House! They are well over capacity and many people are sleeping on the floor, in chairs, or on mattresses without blankets. Last year we made over 100 blankets!!
We need your help to make this a fantastic success. It is our hope that families will be willing to help. This year we are asking families to either donate fabric that is cut and ready to be tied, or gift cards to JoAnn’s Fabric. We had some amazing volunteers to cut and organize fabric last year. However, we would like it if the fabric would come to us already measured and cut. Here is a website that has great instructions on how to measure and prepare the fabric: http://www.joann.com/no-sew-fleece-blanket-pillow/P401713.html
We will be tying the blankets during SWAMPtime. We would also love it if you would be willing to come and help on February 4th from 2:25-3.
We would like all fabric by Monday, February 2nd. Please contact Mrs. Traynor if you have any questions email@example.com.
Monday, Feb. 9 and Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 4:10-8:10pm and Thursday, Feb. 12 from 8:10 am-12:10 pm. In grades K-4, we use "Pick-aTime". Directions are attached.
(5th Grade parents may see teachers anytime during the scheduled conference times except between 5:30 and 6:00 pm on Tuesday. Ten minutes is the suggested time limit.)
If you are unable to come to the book fair, there is an online fair from Feb. 4-24. Your support is APPRECIATED!
